Composition
Each ampoule (2ml) Contains:
Vitamin B12 long-acting (Hydroxocobalamin) 1000 g
1000 µg Folic acid
20 mg Vitamin B6
Properties
Biovit-12 Depot contains a long-acting form of vitamin B₁₂ (Hydroxocobalamin), in addition to two other important vitamins, namely folic acid and vitamin B12.
Vitamin B12 , is essential for growth, cell reproduction, haematopoiesis and myelin synthesis. It has its beneficial effects in vitamin B12 deficiency anaemia and increased vitamin B₁₂ requirements.
Folic acid is essential for normal erythropoiesis and is used in the management of megaloblastic anaemia in association with vitamin B12.
Vitamin B6 is required for amino acid metabolism, it is also involved in carbohydrate and lipid metabolism. Its deficiency affects mainly peripheral nerves and the haematopoietic system.
Indications
Vitamin B₁2, and folic acid deficiency anaemia (Megaloblastic anaemia).
Patients suffering from peripheral neuropathy.
Dosage and Administration
1-2 ampoules by intramuscular injection per week or as prescribed by the physician.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to any of the components.
Side Effects
Rarely, hypersensitivity reactions to vitamin B12 may occur.
