    Indications

    MUCLEAR is a mucolytic used in the treatment of acute & chronic respiratory diseases associated with productive cough in which there is abnormal mucus secretion or transport. It is suitable to be taken with antibiotics in cases of respiratory infections.

    MUCLEAR works by reducing the viscosity of the mucus, increasing its mass & activating the epithelial ciliated cells leading to facilitate expectoration by coughing as in cases of:

  • Bronchial Asthma.
  • Bronchitis with Bronchospasm.
  • Emphysema.
  • Acute & Chronic Pneumonia.

    • Dosage & Administration

  • Children < 2 years: 1/4 teaspoonful (1.25 ml) of MUCLEAR syrup three times daily.
  • Children from 2 to 5 years: 1/2 teaspoonful (2.5 ml) of MUCLEAR syrup three times daily.
  • Children from 5 to 10 years: 1 teaspoonful (5 ml) of MUCLEAR syrup three times daily.
  • Adults & children years: 2 teaspoonfuls (10 ml) of MUCLEAR syrup three times daily.

    • Precautions

  • MUCLEAR should be taken with caution in patients with a history of peptic ulcer & severe hepatic or renal impairment.
  • Care should be taken if MUCLEAR is given for lactating or pregnant women, especially in the first trimester.

    • Contraindications

    MUCLEAR should not be used for patients suffering from hypersensitivity to Bromhexine or who have acute peptic ulcer.

    Side Effects

    MUCLEAR is well tolerated though it may cause mild gastrointestinal disturbances, transient rise in liver enzymes. Also hypersensitivity reactions may occur like skin rashes & angio-oedema.

    Drug Interactions

    Concurrent use of Bromhexine with antibiotics will increase their penetration into lung tissues & bronchial secretions.

    Pharmacokinetics

    MUCLEAR is rapidly absorbed after oral administration, peak plasma concentration occurs in one hour. It is excreted mainly in the urine.

    Overdosage

    No symptoms of overdosage were reported, but if occur symptomatic treatment is required.

    Store below 25 degree, protect from light.
